At Prairie St. John’s, we understand that Nursing is all about growing. As a full service Mental Health Care facility, we offer our Nursing professionals a wide and varied range of options regarding career goals. Our organization is geared toward assisting our staff with everything they need to reach their own goals, both professionally and on a personal level. Prairie offers a variety of options for where you want to work ranging from different locations to different levels of care within our organization. We have inpatient units, partial hospitalization units, outpatient units, Needs Assessment, and several other locations to choose from. You also have options for working with children, adolescents, or adults. Additionally we offer a variety of shifts and employment status’s including full-time, part-time, PRN (as needed), and Seasonal status.

At Prairie St. John’s we have nurses who work in all areas of our continuum. From the moment an individual seeks services to the time they leave, nurses are involved from the beginning of care to the end.

Our Needs Assessment department provides triage and referral services to our patients and the community. Nurses assess and work with LICSW's and psychiatrists to ensure that people receive appropriate level of services and referrals.

Nurses are an important member of the treatment team on our three Inpatient units. You will work with some of the best professionals in their field. You will work closely with the psychiatrist, social worker, Occupational therapist, Chaplain and psychologist to ensure a comprehensive plan of care.

Nurses also help those in our Partial Hospitalization Program transition back to their communities and homes.

In our Intensive Outpatient Mental Illness and Chemical Dependency Program nurses will help educate and support those who struggle with maintaining and abstaining.

Nurses take an active role in educating the community about Mental Health issues. They are an important resource for our area colleges. They help teach the student what it takes to be a professional in a progressive hospital.

Our nurses take an active role in creating and changing policy and practices. As we grow and change our nurses ensure that we continue to maintain our high standards of care. We drive positive outcomes.
