Lana Schaffer heads both Nursing and Quality Management for Prairie St. John's. She has more than 35 years experience in healthcare and 20 years specifically focused on behavioral healthcare and senior management. Her career began as a Medical Technologist. She then became a Nurse and, after three years in acute care, focused her career on Psychiatric Nursing. Her past experiences have included acute and residential care of children and adolescents as well as mental health, addiction and abuse disorders for adults. "As Nursing Director, my goal is to lead and empower our Nursing staff to provide excellent, compassionate and respectful care to our patients and for Prairie St. John's to be the leader and first choice for psychiatric and addiction services in our region. As QM Director, my job is to successfully guide Prairie through accreditation and certification surveys as well as monitor and initiate performance improvement opportunities at every level within our organization."
