Dr. Burtnett believes in a comprehensive approach to treatment that requires involvement of the entire treatment team, including the patient. Just as the causes of mental illness may be varied, so too, the most effective course of treatment must be determined on an individual basis.
Dr. Burtnett joined Prairie in 2007 after practicing in Indiana for several years, where she worked with individuals of all ages. At Prairie, she works primarily on the Adult Inpatient Unit treating mental illness, chemical dependency, and co-occurring disorders. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry and looks forward to continuing in her professional education in order to be able to provide her patients with the best clinical care possible. She is also committed to working to reduce societal stigma associated with mental illness.
